Education

After moving to Gadsden County from Long Island, New York I entered into the school system in the 9th grade. I am a graduate of James A. Shanks High School class of ’83. I earned my A.A. degree in Computer Programming from Tallahassee Community College. I then earned my B.S. degree in Computer Information System from Florida A&M University. I pursued my passion for cooking and earned my A.S degree from Keiser University majoring in Culinary Arts.

Experience

Upon graduating high school I worked as a laborer for several years before obtaining employment as a distributed computer systems specialist with the State of Florida. During this time I was promoted to systems project analyst and finally systems project administrator. After 10 years with the State of Florida I left and started working in the private sector in which I became a web development application contractor. I spent 2 years in this capacity before my contract ended. From 2009 – 2010 I opened up a takeout barbecue restaurant. I took a job with a catering company in Louisiana where I worked out in the Gulf of Mexico. Upon returning to Florida I took a job at Capital Regional Medical Regional Center where I worked as a line cook and eventually head cook. With the popularity of the food truck industry coming into play I decided to purchase a mobile food trailer which I am currently operating. I entered into the Gadsden County School System through the Education Transformation Office in February 2013 as an Interventionist assigned to East Gadsden High School to assist with preparing the students to take the National Restaurant Association ServSafe industry certification. I am currently the Culinary Arts Instructor.
