Attendance

It is essential that students attend class every day.  Students not present in class will receive an unexcused absence and their assignments will be marked as a zero for that day.  The students must provide proper documentation to Ms. Highman in building #8 to receive an excused absence. The Skyward attendance system calls home when a student is marked absent.  Please update contact numbers with the guidance department if necessary.

Tardiness:

Students who arrive late to class waste instructional time and create distraction.  Tardy students will require a pass.  Students more than ten (10) minutes late will be marked absent and referred to the office for skipping.

Missed Exams/Missed assignments:

All missed assignments will be marked as a zero until completed.  Students with excused absences are expected to contact the teacher and make arrangements to complete their work.  Due to the nature of in-class group activities, excused students may receive a modified assignment that can be completed on their own. Tests will include tests and re-tests of subject content area.  All (projects) must be turned in within one week before the end of the nine weeks.

Cheating & Plagiarism: Sharing answers is cheating. Submitting another student’s work as your own, copying and pasting written assignments, or failing to provide proper citations in a paper is plagiarism.  Any cheating and/or plagiarism on class work, homework, essays, tests, will result in a grade of zero (0) for the assignment and the assignment cannot be made up.
