East Gadsden High School is located at 27001 Blue Star Highway, Havana, FL 32346. East Gadsden is home of the "mighty jaguars" and the 'flagship' school of the Gadsden County school district.

East Gadsden High School was opened in August, 2003 and has a middle school feeder pattern of James A. Shanks and Havana Middle. The school serves students in grades 9-12 and currently has an enrollment of 840 students with a demographic make-up a follows: 85% Black, 13 % Hispanic and 2% White and has 81% of its students receiving free or reduced priced lunch.

East Gadsden offers college and career ready programs which includes, but not limited to Law Academy, Health & Agricultural Sciences, 9th Grade Academy, JROTC, Culinary Arts and a standard 24 credit high school diploma track. East Gadsden on the 2011-2012 State Assessment (FCAT) made the most significant gains in reading and writing and continues to show improvement in all other facets of the school.

The educational level of our staff ranges from Bachelors to Doctorates. All faculty have bachelor degrees, while 15 have a Masters and 3 have Doctorates, including the principal. All faculty and staff participate in consistent professional development including workshops,lesson studys, in-services and are involved in professional learning communities.

Business and community partners play a vital part in the educational success of our students. Current partners include:City of Quincy(Parks and Recreation); Florida State University-SSTRIDE and Upward Bound Programs, Florida A&M University- CROP and College of Education, University of Florida- IFAS Program and University of South Florida-PBS Program, Tallahassee Community College- Dual Enrollment, Talent Search and CROP Programs, Gadsden County Pat Thomas Law Academy, Capital City Bank of Quincy, Gadsden County Sheriff Department, Barkley Security and Talquin Electric, Inc.
