East Gadsden High is a Picturing America recipient!  Picturing America introduces citizens of every age to our nation's history and culture by bringing great works of American art into classrooms and libraries.

We have received a collection of 40 high-quality reproductions of American art, along with a Teachers Resource Book. The book includes information on all the images and suggestions for using them to enhance classroom and library learning in a wide range of subjects: including American history, social studies, writing, literature, art, and civics. As a recipient of this grant, we are required to encourage our staff to make use of the images, and keep as many as possible on display during the '09 - '10 school year. A one-page final report is due to the American Library Association by May 31, 2010. After the grant term, awardee institutions are also required to add the images to their permanent collections for future display and educational use.
